A wrinkled face?

Aging of the skin is defined by two signs. On the one hand the skin loses its elasticity, and on the other hand the skin starts revealing wrinkles. Loss of elasticity causes a loose and sagging skin. This problem can be solved with a facelift. Though, a facelift isn’t sufficient enough to treat all types of wrinkles. Therefore, other treatments are indicated. Treatment against wrinkles at SAFARM CLINIC can take different shapes: chemical peeling,  botulinum toxin treatment, treatment with injections or a laser treatment.

CHEMICAL PEELING

Actually, this wrinkle treatment aims for the same effect as the laser treatment. However, the top layer is dissolved with the help of a chemical product.
The list with the amount of products that can be used for peeling is considerably extended. The most frequently used are phenol, TCA and fruit acids.

At Safarm Clinic, they only use peels for superficial, fine wrinkles. The skin is prepared with special cosmoceutical products, after which a series of peels is performed. These peels are done without anaesthesia:
the patient just feels a slight burning feeling. After the peel the skin looks a bit reddish for about two days, with minor scaling.

WRINKLE TREATMENT WITH BOTULINUM TOXIN

Botulinum toxin is a muscle paralyzing agent, that is capable of treating the “dynamic” muscles. Dynamic wrinkles are wrinkles caused by contractions of the muscle.

By injecting small amounts of Botulinum toxin in the muscle, this muscle will be paralysed during 4 to 6 months. The result is clearly visible 3 to 7 days after the injection. After the injection, the skin often shows small “scratches”, remaining fine lines. If necessary, these have to be treated with a filling product, Juvéderm or Radiesse.

INJECTIONS IN WRINKLES AND FOLDS

Treatment of wrinkles can also be executed via injections with non-permanent product like Hyaluronic Acid The result is immediately visible and lasts about nine months to a year.
